Yes you are a...Hazel - So sorry for the late reply! Yes you are absolutely right - we did used to lamb in the autumn. I changed because we don't have shelters for lambing here and it's much colder where we are now. However, we are going to have a barn built (hopefully this year) and I may go back to lambing at least some of the flock in autumn, to catch the best prices in market the following Spring. And I put 3 ewes that missed out on lambing this month back in with the rams for another try.
