I have dipped into your blog occasionally over the years, and just today read your sad news about Mike, and your happy news about your own smallholding, all in one go, so my heart goes out to you for your loss, and at the same time I’m thrilled for you that you have your own little piece of this earth. Love and all best wishes to you, Pam. I remember that wonderful feeling. I sold my darling little house in Anchorage, Alaska when Ralph and I married and I moved to "the Valley." I still miss my house but the sale proceeds financed paving nearly an acre of previously gravel (read: DUST producing) yard. I'm certain that Mike is very proud of you. I'm sending blessings to you for a Happy Christmas and a better New Year. Good riddance, 2020! I'm praying that 2021 will better for all of us. One April Darling Husband decided to simply open the cooler while he ventured. On top of all the goodies was a dozen eggs. He came back hours later and noticed several ravens lurking about. Turns out they not only opened the cardboard container but carried off all 12 eggses, not breaking a one. Those corvus are smart. They do me a favor by mobbing red tailed hawks so I can tell when one is around and keep an eye on the chickens & we have a coop my brother in law donated so no egg stealing. Oddly his chickens pooped in the garage and he didn't like it but didn't shut the coop or the garage, he just rehomed the chickens. Our gain with a fancy pre-made coop which moved everyone out of the shed so we can keep firewood there again. I suppose with 11 years in (I have an 11 year old hen named Sylvia .... ridiculous) with chickens and no losses to the crows that I'm aware of I'm probably okay. Maybe....Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07362528213298534071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8884610467022224157.post-5258707408121897912020-07-19T09:57:55.211-07:002020-07-19T09:57:55.211-07:00Love the name for your chook ...
