Mom and her two boys
This little ewe lamb was born today, about 4 hours ago -
She's an absolute cracker. And just as I prepared to put my newborn lambing kit away, mother surprised us with a twin. Another ram lamb. She snuck it out in the dark so no pictures until morning.
My plans to add a new blog post have been derailed by mother nature. I'll leave you with these images for now, and get the protective fencing up around the new arrivals.
I wondered why we hadn't herd from ewe in awhile.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
Oh Wow!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Granny (or Nanny or Nanna....)
Hope you have managed to get some sleep and the excitement hasn't kept you wake.
C xx
Oh my gosh...they are so adorable! I swear, the one on the right is smiling! I've never seen a newborn before, I'm a little surprised by their size. I guess I thought they would be smaller.
ReplyDeleteAhh they're so gorgeous! I just want to give them a hug... :)
ReplyDeleteMy reader only gave me the title 'fresh out of the oven..." so I was unprepared for the cuteness which followed! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteWow, congratulations! Your're blessed, mother nature's very kind to you - it's rewarding you for all your hardwork
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for the congratualtions. I've passed it on to the new mothers, as they did all the hard work.
ReplyDeletePaula - you win hands down for best pun.
Karen - I don't know if it's an evolutionary trait but their neonatal faces, in this breed at least, look as if they're smiling. It's terribly endearing. If they stayed that way forever no one would ever eat lamb.
C'mon Jen, haven't you figured out by now that telling us what's going on over there is WAY more important than getting fencing up for your sheep? I mean, really.
ReplyDeleteThose are nice fuzzy lambs, though.
My, what wonderful lambikins! Here in the Deep South, your sobriquet would be "Mee-Maw" (which is why I intend to leave before my daughter reproduces).
ReplyDeleteTamar - ask and ye shall receive...And lambs are bigger timewasters than chickens.
ReplyDeleteMartha - Mee-maw sounds sweet! But all my sheep call me MAHHHHHH....
